The USS Cheyenne (SSN 773) has successfully completed its Engineered Refueling Overhaul at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, part of the U.S. Navy's Service Life Extension Program aimed at modernizing and extending the operational life of select submarines.

With upgrades including advanced sonar and combat systems, the Cheyenne is set to remain mission-capable for an additional 10 to 15 years. The Navy plans to identify up to five more Los Angeles-class submarines for similar enhancements, pending budget approval.
