Valerie Williams Deploys with DCMA's Contingency Response Force to Kuwait, Plans Future Deployments

DEFENSE

Valerie Williams, a contract administrator for the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) Red River, deployed to Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, in October 2024 as part of the Contingency Response Force (CRF). After joining DCMA in January 2024, Williams underwent a pre-deployment process supported by the agency's Combat Support Center.

In Kuwait, she was assigned to the 408th Contracting Support Brigade, where she worked closely with warfighters and international partners under the Logistics Civil Augmentation Program V, addressing operational needs. While managing her responsibilities, Williams faced personal challenges, including the loss of three family members during the Thanksgiving holiday.

She returned home in June 2025, shortly after her mother's passing. Williams plans to become an administrative contracting officer and is preparing for another deployment in January 2026.
