Van Oord Completes Coastline Maintenance in Netherlands Using 100% Bio-LNG
NATURAL GAS
Van Oord has successfully completed coastline maintenance in Noord-Beveland, Zeeland, by depositing 1 million m³ of sand at Banjaard beach using the LNG-fuelled dredger Vox Apolonia, which operated on 100% bio-LNG. This initiative, part of the Dutch Coastline Care programme, reflects the sustainability goals of both Van Oord and Rijkswaterstaat, with further beach replenishment projects planned for 2026. Van Oord's efforts are supported by its Green Fuel Fund, aimed at promoting renewable fuels and achieving net-zero emissions.
