Verra has introduced VMD0062, a new methodology for integrating carbon capture and storage (CCS) projects from natural gas processing facilities into the voluntary carbon market, expanding the existing VM0049 framework. This module allows project developers to quantify greenhouse gas emission reductions from CO2 emissions that would otherwise be vented, and is applicable to both existing and planned facilities. The initiative, supported by BKV Corporation, reflects a growing focus on industrial carbon capture, bolstered by U.S. tax incentives and increasing interest in regions with significant gas processing emissions.
