Vistra Corp. Secures 10,566 MW in PJM Capacity Auction for 2027/2028 at $333.44 per MW-Day

Vistra Corp. cleared approximately 10,566 megawatts (MW) in the PJM Interconnection capacity auction for the 2027/2028 planning year, with a weighted average clearing price of $333.44 per megawatt-day. The auction, which ensures power supply commitments for grid reliability, reported cleared capacities of 1,717.7 MW in the EMAAC zone and 2,036.1 MW in the ATSI zone.

Vistra's shares have risen over 26% year-to-date. However, the company reported disappointing Q3 2025 financial results with earnings per share of $1.75, lower than the forecast of $3.50, and revenue of $4.97 billion versus an anticipated $6.91 billion.

S&P Global Ratings upgraded Vistra to 'BBB-' with a stable outlook, following a power purchase agreement for its Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant and an acquisition of natural gas assets from Lotus Infrastructure Partners. KeyBanc initiated Overweight coverage on Vistra, while Moody's Ratings affirmed its Ba1 rating, changing the outlook to positive.
