VivoPower to Acquire 40MW Data Center in Norway for $40 Million
HYDRO POWERDATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURE
VivoPower International PLC has entered into an exclusive agreement to acquire a 40MW operational data center in Norway for $40 million, with the deal expected to close in January 2026. Powered by renewable hydroelectric energy, the facility aims to help VivoPower return to profitability after a negative EBITDA of $8.27 million last year, and will be transformed into a 'Sovereign AI Hub' for training large language models. The site also has potential for an additional 40MW capacity, pending approval in 2026.
