Wales Gas-to-Energy Project Completion Delayed to Late 2026
NATURAL GAS
The completion of the Wales Gas-to-Energy project has been postponed to late 2026, as announced by President Dr. Irfaan Ali, with the government working on a revised timeline due to earlier setbacks. The project, which includes a Natural Gas Liquids facility and a 300-megawatt power plant, aims to halve electricity bills by utilizing natural gas from the offshore Stabroek Block. Delays have been attributed to a $100 million expenditure for site stabilization and a $422 million contract for extending transmission lines.
