West Northamptonshire Council to Reassess Evenley Biogas Plant Proposal for Fourth Time

NATURAL GASBIOPOWERBIOFUELS

West Northamptonshire Council will review plans for a biogas plant in Evenley that converts manure into energy, after recognizing it should have been evaluated under the Northamptonshire Minerals and Waste Local Plan. The plant, proposed by Acorn Bioenergy, aims to generate enough power for 8,000 homes using significant amounts of agricultural waste.

Despite previous rejections and community concerns over traffic and odors, planning officers have recommended approval with conditions. The discussion will take place on February 17, 2026.
