Wichita Falls Explores Development of Industrial Airport Park Near Airport Drive
City leaders in Wichita Falls are evaluating a proposal for an industrial airport park, discussed on November 20 at an Economic Development Corporation meeting. The project remains in the conceptual stage, with no vote requested as further feasibility research is underway.
Moriah Williams, CEO of Forward Wichita Falls, emphasized the importance of assessing the viability of the project and highlighted potential land acquisition at 500 East McKinley Street. The strategy includes attracting defense and aviation companies to diversify the city's industrial base. The board has delayed action on the land purchase until additional information is collected, with plans to revisit the acquisition in February or March for a potential vote.
