NATURAL GAS

Woodfibre LNG in Squamish, B.C., received a non-compliance notice from the B.C. Environmental Assessment Office for failing to monitor juvenile salmon during construction, potentially jeopardizing local populations.

The violation, noted in public records on December 30, occurred in August, but no fines have been imposed. In response, Woodfibre LNG plans to enhance its monitoring program, while the Squamish Nation supports the project and is working to restore affected areas of the Squamish River.
