Woolworths has launched a commercial trial in New South Wales to assess asparagopsis-based feed additives, developed by Sea Forest, aimed at reducing methane emissions in grassfed cattle. In collaboration with Direct Injection Technologies and Teys Australia, the multi-year project will evaluate both water-delivered and dry-lick formulations, with the goal of lowering emissions by up to 80% while enhancing productivity in the beef value chain. The results will be independently verified and shared with the industry to encourage sustainable cattle production practices.
