Yarra Trams has launched the 'Trambassadors' initiative to improve late-night safety for passengers in Melbourne, deploying teams of trained individuals across key tram routes. These mixed-gender teams, identifiable by their green and navy uniforms, aim to deter antisocial behavior and assist those feeling unsafe, with research indicating that their presence can enhance passenger confidence by 17%. The program was developed in collaboration with Yarra Trams employees and The Behavioural Architects.
