Adams County Promotes Former Power Plant Sites for Data Center Development
DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURE
Adams County, Ohio, is promoting two former power plant sites on the Ohio River as ideal locations for data centers due to their power and water resources. Economic Development Director Paul Worley highlighted the isolation of the sites, which are appealing to developers amid concerns about transparency in other counties.
Since 2019, the properties have attracted interest from real estate investors and potential data center operators. Additionally, a separate company is pursuing a 1,016-acre site for light industrial use, with plans to begin construction in 2026.
