Aetherflux Launches Galactic Brain Project to Create Space-Based Data Centers for AI
Aetherflux, a California-based startup, has announced the Galactic Brain project, aiming to establish a constellation of satellites that will serve as distributed data centers in space, powered by solar energy. The initiative responds to the increasing energy demands of artificial intelligence (AI) systems and seeks to alleviate the burden on terrestrial data centers.
The plan includes launching satellites that will process AI computations in orbit, returning only processed results to Earth. Aetherflux intends to demonstrate its energy transmission technology with a satellite launch in 2026, followed by the deployment of the first operational node of the Galactic Brain constellation in early 2027. The project aims to provide a more stable and predictable energy supply for AI applications, potentially revolutionizing data processing for AI and reducing reliance on terrestrial infrastructure.
