Amazon Acquires 1.2 GW Sunstone Solar Project in Oregon from Pine Gate Renewables

Amazon Energy has acquired the 1.2 GW Sunstone solar-plus-storage project in Oregon from Pine Gate Renewables for $83 million, following the latter's Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing. The project, which features 7,200 MWh of storage capacity and is set to begin construction in 2026, will enhance Amazon's control over its data center energy generation. Proceeds from the sale will be allocated to Pine Gate's secured creditors.
