APh ePower has been awarded the 2025 R&D 100 Award for its Elevator Regenerative Power System (ERPS), which efficiently recovers kinetic energy during elevator rides, achieving over 90% conversion efficiency and reducing global energy use by over 40%. With the potential to save 164 TWh of energy annually across 15 million elevators worldwide, the system also allows elevators to function during outages. Additionally, Gold Standard has approved a methodology for generating carbon credits from this technology, and APh ePower plans to expand its applications to AI data centers and smart city infrastructure.
