ATOBA Energy and Flying Forest Sign Long-Term Sustainable Aviation Fuel Offtake Agreement in Finland

SUSTAINABLE AVIATION FUELMETHANOL

ATOBA Energy and Flying Forest have signed a Letter of Intent for a long-term sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) offtake agreement. This partnership will support Flying Forest's project in Iisalmi, Finland, which aims to convert wood waste into SAF using advanced methanol-to-jet technology, producing 200,000 tons of SAF annually across three production lines.

Flying Forest has secured agreements with local sawmills for up to 3.75 million tons of feedstock annually, ensuring supply security. The collaboration addresses the financial challenges in the SAF industry by providing stable contracts to producers while offering airlines competitive pricing. The first production line is expected to be operational by 2030.
