Belgium to Build 150 MW Hydrogen Electrolysis Capacity by 2026 with EU Support
ELECTROLYZERHYDROGEN
Belgium's Ministry of Energy has initiated a hydrogen strategy aiming to establish 150 MW of hydrogen electrolysis capacity by 2026, with support from the EU. Key projects include the GIGA-SCALES initiative, which seeks to produce 20 GW of alkaline electrolyser membranes, and the Be-Hy consortium's development of Europe's first commercial hydrogen solar park. The plan also involves constructing 100-160 km of hydrogen pipelines and importing 20 TWh of green hydrogen by 2030 to bolster energy independence.
