Bitdeer Completes 40 MW Bitcoin Mining Site in Oromia, Ethiopia

Bitdeer Technologies Group has completed a 40 MW bitcoin mining site in Oromia, Ethiopia, with an additional 20 MW expected to be operational by Q1 2026. In December 2025, the company mined 636 bitcoins, marking a 339% year-over-year increase, and currently operates a self-mining hashrate of 55.2 EH/s. Globally, Bitdeer has a total electrical capacity of 1,658 MW online and is expanding its AI data center capacity in Malaysia and other locations.
