Boom Supersonic Develops Overture Airliner for Sustainable Supersonic Travel by 2029
SUSTAINABLE AVIATION FUEL
Boom Supersonic is developing the Overture airliner, which aims to achieve sustainable supersonic travel by 2029, cruising at Mach 1.7 and accommodating 60-80 passengers. The aircraft will exclusively use Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), with its demonstrator, XB-1, successfully completing supersonic flight tests in early 2025. Commercial service is anticipated by 2029, with orders already secured from United Airlines and American Airlines.
