Bossier City Council to Vote on Water Supply Agreement for Potential Data Center
Bossier City Council is set to vote on a water services agreement to supply 1.8 to 13.5 million gallons of water daily to an undisclosed project in north Bossier Parish. If approved, this agreement could serve the daily water needs of between 21,951 and 164,634 residents based on average consumption.
The agreement, which passed a preliminary vote on December 2, lacks detailed information, and city officials have not responded to inquiries. Speculation suggests the agreement may be linked to a recently rezoned 1,000-acre industrial property that Benton Mayor James Friday believes could become a data center.
The ordinance allows Mayor Tommy Chandler to finalize the agreement, which requires the owner to fund the necessary infrastructure and pay commercial rates. The council meeting for the vote is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Tuesday.
