Chancellor Visits University of Sheffield to Review Aerospace and Nuclear Manufacturing Facilities
SUSTAINABLE AVIATION FUELFUSION & ADVANCED NUCLEAR POWER
The Chancellor of the Exchequer visited the University of Sheffield's Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre to evaluate its aerospace and clean energy facilities, including the Composites at Speed and Scale facility, which supports lightweight aerostructure production for net-zero aviation. The Chancellor also toured Factory 2050, focusing on prototype modules for small modular nuclear reactors in collaboration with Rolls-Royce SMR, and highlighted the university's £1.5 million project to advance sustainable aviation fuel production.
