DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURE

The Cincinnati Planning Commission unanimously approved a measure to temporarily regulate new data centers for three months as the city studies permanent regulations. The proposal, directed by City Manager Sheryl Long and Mayor Aftab Pureval, aims to address the impact of data centers on local utilities and natural resources.

The measure includes establishing an Interim Development Control Overlay District, requiring additional reviews by the City Planning Commission. City Council will consider the measure on Tuesday, with a potential extension for an additional nine months.
