ComEd has secured $2 billion in transmission agreements to meet a surge in power demand from data centers, with customers requesting 6.5 gigawatts of power. The utility anticipates unprecedented demand, with 75 projects potentially consuming 28 gigawatts, and plans to increase initial deposits for larger users. Despite new requirements, eight of the 11 customers signed the agreements, reflecting strong interest in ComEd's power supply.
