Completion of Unitirreno Cable Work in Olbia Enhances Digital Connectivity

The Unitirreno cable project in Olbia has been completed with the landing of the infrastructure in Genoa on February 4. This system links Mazara del Vallo to Genoa over a distance of over 1,000 kilometers, featuring junctions in Rome-Fiumicino and Olbia.
It is the first Open Cable system in the Mediterranean with a total capacity exceeding 600 terabits per second. The project involves collaboration between Siportal, Open Fiber, and Unitirreno, creating a strategic digital hub in Sardinia.
