Dallas Township Proposes Zoning Amendment for Data Centers
DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURE
Dallas Township supervisors are proposing a zoning amendment to regulate data centers, limiting them to I-1 industrial zones and establishing a 300-foot setback with a 50-foot vegetation buffer. A public hearing is scheduled for Wednesday to address concerns about energy and water consumption, as well as to set guidelines for lighting, noise, and emergency response. The move comes in response to proposed developments, including an expansion by Amazon's nearby data center.
