DNV discussed Everllence's ME-LGIA ammonia dual-fuel engine, emphasizing its potential for emission reductions and safety measures. The maritime industry is shifting towards ammonia as a low greenhouse gas fuel, with 48 vessels on order.

The ME-LGIA engine allows for operation on both ammonia and conventional fuels, supporting the transition to zero-carbon shipping. Advanced safety features and extensive testing have been integrated to handle ammonia's toxicity. Everllence has committed over 150,000 hours to the engine's design and validation since July 2023.
