DTE Energy Accepts MPSC Conditions for OpenAI and Oracle Data Center in Michigan
DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURE
DTE Energy has agreed to the Michigan Public Service Commission's conditions for a 1.4-gigawatt data center project for OpenAI and Oracle in Saline Township, ensuring that revenues will cover service costs. The approval, dated December 18, 2025, has prompted Attorney General Dana Nessel to request a rehearing due to concerns about the expedited process. This facility is expected to be Michigan's largest data center, consuming electricity equivalent to over one million homes.
