Duke Energy Submits Early Site Permit for New Nuclear Units in North Carolina; BWXT Receives $100 Million for TRISO Fuel Plant

Duke Energy has submitted an early site permit application to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission for potential new nuclear units near Belews Creek, North Carolina, with the first small modular reactor expected by 2036. Meanwhile, BWXT has received $100 million from Wyoming's Large Project Energy Matching Funds to develop a TRISO fuel fabrication facility in Gillette, which will create 200 jobs and support the local uranium market.
