Eidesvik Offshore has signed a contract with Halsnøy Dokk to retrofit its PSV Viking Energy for ammonia fuel, part of the Apollo project. The conversion aims to begin ammonia operations by 2026, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by over 70%.

The project includes structural modifications and installation of a Wärtsilä dual-fuel engine. Testing will follow the yard stay, with support from Equinor and the EU-backed consortium featuring Maritime CleanTech.
