Federal and Provincial Governments Fund University of Regina's Small Modular Reactor Testing Centre in Saskatchewan

The Government of Canada and the Government of Saskatchewan have announced a combined funding of $5.96 million to establish the Small Modular Reactor Safety, Licensing, and Testing Centre at the University of Regina. This initiative aims to advance the nuclear energy sector by providing modern testing facilities, creating 18 direct jobs, and supporting small businesses, while preparing for the anticipated workforce needs for future nuclear power plants by the mid-2030s.
