FiberCop Completes Digital Backbone with 27 Million km of Fiber Optics for Enhanced Connectivity in Italy
FiberCop has launched its new digital backbone, comprising approximately 27 million kilometers of fiber optics, ensuring stable connectivity across Italy. This infrastructure connects access points serving homes, businesses, and regions with major national points of presence (POPs), facilitating integration with other networks and strategic data centers.
The project was completed ahead of schedule, achieving 67% of its FTTH rollout target for 2027. The backbone connects major Italian cities and industrial districts, providing ultra-fast, resilient, and secure connectivity.
FiberCop's proprietary network allows for customized services for telecom operators and efficient adaptation to technological changes. The operational roadmap includes completed super core nodes in Milan and Rome, with customer migration to the new infrastructure underway. The backbone emphasizes sustainability through energy-efficient technologies, positioning FiberCop as a key player in Italy's digital transformation.
