fifteenfortyseven Launches McAllen Internet Exchange to Enhance Cross-Border Connectivity
fifteenfortyseven Critical Systems Realty (1547) has launched the McAllen Internet Exchange (MCT-IX) inside the Chase Tower in McAllen, Texas, aimed at improving localized traffic exchange and cross-border connectivity between the United States and Mexico. MCT-IX, recognized by ARIN under ASN AS402079, is already enrolling participants with several networks committing ports.
The initiative is supported by over $6 million in upgrades to critical systems and infrastructure within Chase Tower, which has seen increased carrier deployments and cross-connect activity throughout 2025. To accommodate growing demand, 1547 is also expanding colocation capacity with 500 kW inside Chase Tower and a new 3 MW, 13,000-square-foot data center annex, expected to be completed by Q4 2026. MCT-IX is positioned to offer a more efficient, localized option for traffic exchange in the region.
