The Flemish government has sold Researchpark Zellik to Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), which intends to transform it into a comprehensive innovation and science campus. Originally established in 1983 and underutilized, the site will undergo further development in collaboration with various partners, building on recent infrastructure projects like the Smart Village Lab and Nexus data center. A master plan will be created to guide the campus's evolution, with VLAIO overseeing the process.
