Focused Energy is enhancing its leadership team to advance laser fusion industrialization. Debbie Callahan has been appointed Chief Strategic Officer (CSO) and Omar Biabani is the new Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

Callahan, who was instrumental in the December 2022 laser fusion breakthrough at the National Ignition Facility, will focus on applying scientific advances to industrial applications. Biabani, previously Vice President of Product Development at ASML, will lead the technological roadmap for a laser fusion power plant.

Focused Energy is partnered with RWE to develop Germany's first laser fusion power plant at the former Biblis nuclear power plant site, targeting completion by 2035. The company's Redwood City, California location is central to its operations, emphasizing AI and digital development to accelerate fusion energy industrialization.
