Galliford Try Awarded Phase 1 of South West Water's Continuous Water Quality Monitoring Programme

AMMONIA

Galliford Try's Water Technologies arm has been selected for Phase 1 of South West Water's Continuous Water Quality Monitoring (CWQM) Programme. The project will involve the installation of 86 automatic samplers across wastewater assets in Devon and Cornwall, aimed at monitoring river and stream health as mandated by the Environment Act.

The monitoring will assess dissolved oxygen, temperature, pH, turbidity, and ammonia levels at locations upstream and downstream of storm overflows and sewage treatment works. Results are expected to be published in 2030 for public transparency. The programme will utilize multi-parameter sensors from RS Hydro, advanced 3D scanning, and Geographic Information System (GIS) integration for effective planning and installation.
