Ghana Advances Nuclear Power Initiative for Regional Electricity Export

Ghana is expediting its nuclear power program for civilian use, aiming for regional electricity exports in West Africa. The Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs met with Nuclear Power Ghana to discuss progress on site assessments, regulatory compliance, and integration into the national grid.
The initiative is part of a broader strategy to diversify energy sources and enhance Ghana's role in the West African Power Pool. The country is currently in Phase 2 of the IAEA's milestone approach, with a focus on establishing key organizations for safe nuclear operations.
