The ASTURIAS Data Center Scientific Mission will launch on February 12 at the AS5HUB in Gijón. Funded by the Asturian Agency for Science, Competitiveness, and Innovation (Sekuens), the mission aims to reduce the energy and carbon footprint of data centers (CPDs) and position Asturias as a leader in sustainable digital infrastructure. The initiative focuses on energy efficiency, infrastructure reuse, and intelligent operation, with a pilot project evaluating energy optimization in CPDs.
