Goodram Launches 123TB DC25F SSD with Native Immersion Cooling Support for Future Data Centers
Goodram Enterprise has introduced the DC25F QLC SSD, a 123TB drive designed for immersion cooling in dielectric fluids. It supports E3.S and E3.L form factors, achieving sequential read speeds of 14,600 MB/s and write speeds of 3,200 MB/s.
The drive is notable for its official certification for use in immersion cooling, having undergone extensive testing to ensure reliability while submerged. While not the largest SSD available, it stands out as potentially the first with native immersion cooling support.
Goodram's product line includes various forms compatible with immersion cooling, indicating a long-term strategy. The timing of the announcement aligns with increasing thermal challenges in data centers driven by AI workloads, where traditional cooling methods are becoming inadequate. Immersion cooling is gaining traction as a more efficient thermal management solution compared to conventional air or liquid cooling systems.
