Google Plans First Data Center in France Amid Regional Investment Surge

Google is set to establish its first data center in France, located in Châteauroux, with a €58.5 million investment and support from a new high-voltage power line by RTE by 2027. The region is experiencing a surge in investments, including another data center by Deknet and a new factory by Jacobi, while the defense industry is expanding production of Caesar cannons. However, local businesses are struggling with inflation and trade uncertainties, resulting in layoffs at some companies.
