Google has received approval for a data center in Kronstorf, Austria, covering 42,000 sqm, although the permits are not yet legally binding due to an ongoing objection period. This marks the company's first self-built data center in Austria, following a 17-year development process that began with land acquisition in 2008. Construction is expected to commence in August 2025, with the facility featuring 29,000 sqm of data center space.
