Grafton Village Seeks Resident Input on Potential Uses for Beacon Park, Including Data Center

DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURE

Grafton Village is surveying residents regarding the future use of Beacon Park, a 650-acre site split into Beacon North and Beacon South. Mayor Charles L. Duke Jr. emphasized the need for community feedback and clarity from developers before any decisions.

The village purchased 711 acres of former prison farmland in 2019, which includes a solar facility on 33 acres. Current zoning is industrial, with available utilities. The survey offers options such as industrial and technical parks, solar fields, recreation, housing, and more, alongside potential benefits like job creation and improved infrastructure.

The village has engaged Kleinfelder Inc. for economic development and Shumaker law firm for legal review. A public meeting is scheduled for February 3 to discuss the survey results and future steps.
