Hall County Commissioners to Vote on 180-Day Extension for High-Density Zoning Moratorium and Data Centers
DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURE
Hall County commissioners plan to vote on a resolution to extend the suspension of high-density residential rezonings and pause data center applications. The current moratorium, in effect since August 29, 2025, is set to expire on February 25, 2026.
If approved, the extension will last 180 days and include a halt on special use permits for data centers, following public backlash against a proposed data center project last year. The vote is scheduled for February 26, 2026.
