Helion Energy reached a plasma temperature of 150 million degrees Celsius and became the first private venture to use tritium fuel in fusion tests. The company, based in Everett, Washington, is constructing a commercial fusion power facility in Eastern Washington, with plans to begin operations in 2028.
Helion's Polaris prototype has surpassed previous records, validating its approach to fusion energy development. The company aims to eventually utilize deuterium and helium-3 for enhanced electricity production.
