Hobart Plan Commission Reschedules Fill Permit Meeting for Amazon Data Center
DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURE
The Hobart Plan Commission has rescheduled its meeting to discuss a fill permit for a 605-acre site intended for an Amazon data center to February 5 due to legal issues regarding document availability. The permit is being requested by Tuhaus LLC, with Langan Engineering involved, while the city council has already approved resolutions supporting the project, including a $47 million contribution from Amazon to the city. Mayor Huddlestun highlighted that this payment is the largest known for private development in the U.S., aimed at enhancing community services without increasing income tax.
