Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has launched a Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) demonstration plant at its Visakh Refinery, utilizing used cooking oil for production. This initiative aligns with India's SAF blending targets and aims to produce approximately 10 TMT of SAF annually by January 2027, supporting the country's efforts in decarbonizing aviation and fostering a circular economy. Various organizations, including Indian Oil Corporation Limited and Bharat Petroleum Limited, are collaborating on SAF research and production.
