IDPRO Reports Indonesia's Data Center Capacity Below 1 Watt per Capita
DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURE
The Indonesia Data Center Provider Organization (IDPRO) reported that the country's data center capacity is currently below 1 watt per capita, insufficient to meet the demands of its expanding digital economy. The Ministry of Communication and Digital aims to boost this capacity to 2.81 watts per capita by 2026, with further increases planned through 2029, while emphasizing the necessity for green energy and improved infrastructure. IDPRO recommends establishing a national data center roadmap and streamlining regulations to facilitate growth in hyperscale facilities.
