India Unveils Semiconductor Roadmap to Produce 7nm Chips by 2030 at WEF 2026

India's Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw unveiled a semiconductor roadmap at the World Economic Forum, aiming to produce 7-nanometer chips by 2030 and advance to 3-nanometer technology by 2032. The initiative, backed by a $70 billion investment, will establish four semiconductor plants by 2026, creating 2.5 million jobs and focusing on manufacturing to meet 75% of global chip demand. Collaboration with IBM and support for 24 startups will enhance technology and talent development in the sector.
