Indiana State Rep. Tim Yocum has introduced House Bill 1341, which aims to ban the use of eminent domain for private carbon storage projects, thereby protecting landowners' rights and ensuring voluntary participation.

The bill specifically addresses carbon capture and pipeline initiatives, including a project by Wabash Valley Resources that plans to inject 1.67 million tons of CO2 annually for ammonia fertilizer production. The legislation has been referred to the House Utilities, Energy, and Telecommunications Committee.
