Indre 2030 Plan Proposes 1,000 Autonomous Taxis and AI Solutions to Combat Medical Desertification

DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURE

Under the 'Indre 2030' plan, a study by Asterès was presented to local officials on December 16. The proposal includes a fleet of 1,000 autonomous taxis to address challenges like medical desertification and mobility issues.

The initiative aims to make Indre the first department in France to implement this system, complementing other projects such as revitalizing the railway line between Châteauroux and Tours. The estimated annual cost is five million euros, with legislative changes needed for implementation.

Additionally, Asterès recommends deploying AI to enhance medical diagnostics, equating the efficiency gains to the presence of 15 additional doctors. Furthermore, the region's available land could attract data centers, with Google considering a site in Ozans, potentially creating between 2,500 and 17,900 jobs.
